6th Man
In basketball there are starters and there is the bench. Obviously, the starters are the best, the ones you count on to win the game. At the end of the bench you have the ones who rarely see the court except in practice, which is probably why they are on the team – that, and if something really crazy bad is happening and you have to put someone out there. Then there’s the sixth man. You don’t expect him to be your play maker. He is actually there to give the other players a break without screwing up too badly. Today it clicked. I’m the sixth man. I’m the full time substitute.
